A new, £2 million, state of the art, equestrian centre was provided in 2009, funded by Sport NI, Coleraine Borough Council, the Department of Social Development and RDA Coleraine fundraising. This consists of an International standard indoor arena, an indoor warm-up arena, stabling facilities, with a 90 x 50 m outdoor arena.
The Centre has Inclusive Sports Facility (ISF) Accreditation from Disability Sport Northern Ireland In addition to the disability services provision, the centre allows for the provision of equestrian events up to international standard, organised by the Group, and by local and regional equestrian clubs.
Regular shows are organised and managed by a very experienced show committee who volunteer both their time and valuable knowledge. Events range from showjumping (affiliated and unaffiliated), dressage, showing and working hunter. In addition, to RDA competitions and also, Special Olympics.
Showjumping, dressage, showing and working hunter clinics are also a feature of what is on offer at the RDA Causeway Coast Arena. With a wide-range of professional and accredited coaches available to help you to excel in your specialism.
All proceeds from these events go towards the running and maintenance of the RDA. Helping with the provision of a fabulous service and facility for disabled riders to learn to ride and also to compete locally and nationally.
The site has extensive parking facilities, making life easy after a long drive! There is a well maintained toilet block with disabled access. On show days the "Horse Trough Cafe" is open offering hot food and refreshments to all.
